Como estan Hermanos y Hermanas de MY BAD TEQUILA?
Congratulations to Phil Mickelson on his win of the Tour Championship; Wished he could have won the FED EX Cup but that went to Phil's nemesis Tiger Woods as did the $10 Million Check. Recovery today from a wild wedding in Gilbert, AZ where Patron and Jose Cuervo flowed freely along with Coronas & Bud Light. Boise State Broncos are ranked #5 in the nation, highest ranking ever, even higher that when in 2006 undefeated season with final whupping of Oklahoma Sooners in the Fiesta Bowl. Keep BSU focused and winning, Thx, Coach Chris Peterson. Getting ready to watch my Arizona Cardinals and Kurt Warner take on Indianapolis Colts and Peyton Manning. Saludos, Uncle Rico Austin CEO & Author - MY BAD TEQUILA "Take a Double Shot of Reality" Compadres,
Uncle Rico is feeling quite old today as he is going to one of his good friends - Ricky D's daughter's wedding. He is accustomed to going to friends' weddings, not their children's weddings. But oh well, lots of Cabo Wabo and Don Julio 1942 to enjoy as Ricky likes his tequila as does Uncle Rico. Arizona State Sun Devils travel to #21 Georgia Bulldogs to play down in the South.on ESPN tonight. Go SunDevils! Boise State Broncos #8th in the nation are also on a long flight to Bowling Green to continue their unbeaten streak in hopes for a BCS or National Title Game. If Boise State University went to a National Championship Game, they would be the only team to have played in a Division II and a Division I Championship Game. Broncos won the Division II Championship back in 1981. Uncle Rico was at that game in Boise, Idaho. Remember you read it first on MY BAD TEQUILA Blog. For the naysayers shaking their heads about Boise State Broncos playing in a National Championship game, think back to the 2006 Season when only BSU Broncos were the only undefeated team in College Football and went on to beat Oklahoma Sooners in Double Overtime at the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona at the new University of Phoenix stadium. Uncle Rico was also present at that game. Anyway, if things going correctly and all other 6 or 7 ranked teams above Boise State Broncos lose a game, how can the BCS keep Boise State University from their rightful place in history? They can not, not legitimately! Go Broncos, Sun Devils and Cabo Wabo!!! Saludos, Uncle Rico aka Rico Austin Author & CEO - MY BAD TEQUILA Que Tal Amigos,
Still in the recovery mode from "The Chickenfoot Concert held at the Dodge Theatre downtown Phoenix. What a night, partying with Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Chad Smith and Joe Satriani. Just a little disappointed no previous hits from Sammy Hagar and gang except an old Montrose hit at the very end. I understatnd why they don't want to include those hits from the Van Halen days, but I believe it would make for a better, exciting show. Michael Anthony threw me a pick that showed his website madanthonycafe.com on one side and the other side had Chickenfoot name and logo of the chickenfoot. Thanks Mr. Anthony for the pick, Thanks to Sammy Hagar and Joe Satriani for trying to show my banner of "MY BAD TEQUILA" for the camera and the fans. It was especially neat at the end to see Chad Smith come undone on his drum set and then to start destroying it along with the help of Sammy. Fantastic, glad I was fortunate enough to witness the preformance. Can't wait to see the video of it and hopefully, several of my friends. Tiger is leading the Tour Championship after the end of the 2nd round. Padraig Harrington and Sean O'Hair just one stroke back and my buddy - Phil Mickelsn is now in 12th place after a great day of shooting a 67 today. Tomorrow, big plans, my Buddy Rick's daughter in getting married tomorrow so Wedding Crashers will be in place. Full open bar tomorrow night, Thanks Rickie D. Shocked is the word to describe how I felt about Mackenzie Phillips' bio about her dad and their sexual relations. I would think after that many years, let sleeping dogs die, but she probably needs a large influx of cash. Even more shocking was that Oprah Winfrey wanted to cover the story. I don't think Oprah needs the ratings or the money, usually she does a great job of having the right people and subjects discussed but this trash should be saved for the Jerry Springer show. Things like this don't make for great television, guess I'm sort of "old fashioned" in that way, but to each their own. TGIF, I think I'll celebrate with a shot of Cabo Wabo and listen to my new Chickenfoot CD after Kenny Chesney finishes "Have Another Beer in Mexico." Que Tengan un Buen Viernes Amigos, Rico Austin, Author & CEO - MY BAD TEQUILA Mis Amigos,
Manana, I will put into words all the lyrics and songs of Chickenfoot - Sammy Hagar, lead vocal & Red Rocker, Chad Smith -Drummer Extrodinaire, Joe Satriani, what else can you say - Guitarist to the Utmist & Michael Anthony, the little drummer boy that I want banging away every Christmas on my drums!!! Complete chaos with genius is the best way to describe the music; I felt like I was in my mid 20s again vs. closing in on 50 with a vengeance. The crowd went wild 4 different times, 1. when Sammy said that the last time he was in Phoenix was the Nascar Race & he partied all night long with Jimmy Johnson who was the last car standing in 1st place & when he still showed he can jump 14 inches of the stage ground; 2. when Joey laid out his music on that guitar, first with the fingers and then with the teeth or tongue, what rythm; 3. when Mikey Baby taking the Bass to places it ain't never seen before; 4. when Chad S. just a flipping those drumsticks like there may be no tomorrow or California ; he flipped them everywhere in Dodge; What is the Guiness Book of World Records for flipping drum sticks, the most flipped into a crowd & the farthest? I was able to get my camera hit by a flinging pick by Mr. Anthony and was able to follow it's projection to the floor. Wow, How lucky a man I am - Row 1, Seat 18 and all life before me. The guys tried to show My Bad Tequila Banner but it was tangled up. Cabo Wabo was planted in each of the liquor sections, one bottle per section until the final shot was poured. Uncle Rico made it to 4 booths with double shots of reality at each station. Que tengan un buen semana!! Uncle Rico Austin, Author & CEO of MY BAD TEQUILA!! Hey Rock 'n' Roll Fans & Amigos,
Uncle Rico is heading to Dodge Theatre in Tempe, AZ tomorrow evening for a little Chickenfoot: "A dash of Chili Pepper, two jiggers of Van Hagar, and a whole batch of Satch." Should be a great concert with likes of Sammy Hagar and his former bassist when they were with Van Halen, Chili Peppers, drummer Chad Smith and guitarist Joe Satriani of Satch. Ready for some 80s - style rock. It will be great seeing my pal Sammy once again, last time was back in July when we had three Pacificos apiece in the Captain's Bar in San Carlos, Mexico. I need to purchase a new bottle of Cabo Wabo for my reunion with Mr. Hagar, The Red Rocker. Hasta Luego, Uncle Rico Austin, Author & CEO of MY BAD TEQUILA Hola Amigos,
You can now follow MY BAD TEQUILA on Twitter - mybadtequila ; Monday night is Football night - Are You Ready for Some Football? as Hank Williams Jr. would question. It's weird having MNF on ESPN instead of ABC, feel sorry for the fans that do not have the means to pay for cable and ESPN and/or are not able to go to the local sports pub. MNF needs to get back to free TV for all fans. On my Fantasy Football League, Miami's Ginn Jr. has to have a great night, I need 10 points from that man to win my game this week. Wow the Jrs. are sure getting their names on this Blog tonight. Think I'll take it easy tonight, have a few coronas and a double shot of reality - I mean Cabo Wabo to calm my Monday Blues. Remember Twitter = mybadtequila ; Have a Fantastic Evening, Rico Austin Author & CEO - MY BAD TEQUILA Buenos Noches Compadres de My Bad Tequila,
My friend Carla, fellow Thunderbird Alumnus at International School of Global Management is attending the Emmy Awards tonight in Los Angeles. Best Wishes for an unbelievable night rubbing elbows with the Hollywood Stars. Some of my favorites are earlier winners at the Emmys - Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey and Jeff Probst of my favorite reality show - Survivor. Arizona Cardinals led by Mr. Kurt Warner easily beat Jacksonville Jaguars in Florida. Helps ease the pain for the loss the Cardinals suffered last week San Francisco 49ers, Cardinals played horribly in that contest. Buenos Noticias for the Boise State Broncos, we are now ranked 8th in the nation. Broncos need to continue winning as the ranked teams keep falling from their posts with losses. Do we have a possibility for a National Championship this year? perhaps if like in 2007 Boise State is the only undefeated College Football Team at the end of the season. Stay focused BSU. Well, I just finished my subway sandwich followed by a nice double shot of Cabo Wabo. Man that stuff goes great with an Italian Subway sandwich. Topping my night off watching the Dallas Cowboys take on the New York Giants in the new Dallas Stadium. Great weekend with lots of football, a little Cabo Wabo tequila and writing a few pages on MY BAD TEQUILA. Que Tengan Un Buen Noche, Rico Austin Author & CEO of MY BAD TEQUILA Que Tal Amigos?
Great news, MY BAD TEQUILA now has friends from "down under," Australia. One of the places I highly regard as a place I must visit and see. Very pleased to have amigos nuevo de Australia. Finishing Chapter 7 of My Bad Tequila and mention the Sammy Hagar story which includes Van Halen and the billboard hit "Why can' t this be love” of 1986. Also, in Chapter 7, Beach Boys are mentioned and so is their concert in 1982 played in Boise, Idaho with Mike Love, Al Jardine, Brian Wilson and Bruce Johnston. All four of them and members of their backup band personally signed 8 of my Beach Boy albums. Mike Love signed all 8, the other members signed 3 of them. I was also invited to join them for lunch, burgers by the Red Lion Pool in Boise, ID. How fortunate was I to have met one of the original US rock bands singing about the surfin California lifestyle from Hawthorne, California. Just got back from the ASU SunDevil game in Tempe, AZ; I love that stadium, built right next to the mountain and rock. I'm bummed that USC lost to Washington as mi amigo Artie the One Man Party - CPO, Chief Party Officer is flying in from Boise, Idaho on weekend of Nov. 7th to witness the ASU vs. USC classic game. We were both hoping that USC and ASU would both be undefeated and USC would be ranked at very least in the top three. Well at least ASU is still perfect. Go SunDevils. Way to go, Ma Bruthers from Cali & Australia, Rico Austin, Author & CEO - MY BAD TEQUILA Aloha,
TGIF, so my salutation will be in Hawaiian today instead of the usual Spanish. Huge sales and staff meeting today for MY BAD TEQUILA, we have decided to team up with Arizona State University SunDevils for their game this Saturday at SunDevil Stadium with giant banners. Should be a fun tailgate party at ASU football stadium parking lot. Party starts at 2:00pm, wear shorts and sunglasses - temperatures expected to be in triple digits tomorrow before game time. Tonight 10th nationally ranked Boise State University Bronco ride into Fresno to buck off the Fresno State Bulldogs on ESPN tonight. Kick off your night with a shot of Cabo Wabo or Don Julio for a combination pregame and Friday night happy hour. Make sure and give your Tequila a big hug and Take a Double Shot of Reality for a chaser. Aloha and Mahalo, Rico Austin Author & CEO - MY BAD TEQUILA ?Que Tal My Brothers & Sisters of MY BAD TEQUILA,
Big news, make sure & follow twitter - My Bad Tequila; My Bad Tequila is following Kenny Chesney & Sammy Hagar. A quiet day on the homefront, most exciting news I have to report is I have completed Chapter 6 and am now writing Chapter 7 of MY BAD TEQUILA. My good friend & copy editor - Chris has started the unglorified job of editing the first 5 chapters so that we may meet the deadline for the first book signing on June 4th, 2010 in San Carlos, Mexico. It is days like today that we are most in need of a "double shot of reality" and need to "hug our tequila" to show we care. Tomorrow evening via ESPN - Boise State Broncos will travel to and play Fresno State Bulldogs in the Great State of California. The odds line is BSU by 7 points as Fresno State is and should be respected. Last week Fresno could have and should have beaten Wisconsin Badgers. But, should have, could have, would have; anyway Fresno will be looking for the upset on their home field and will not lay over for the Broncos. A Bulldog can be a dangerous animal if cornered. I will be watching and cheering on my Broncos with a shot of Cabo Wabo each time Boise State scores. Last week was a bit much as the Broncos racked up 48 points and I racked up a huge headache and lost many unneeded but wanted brain cells. Hasta Manana Rico Austin Author & CEO of MY BAD TEQUILA Saludos Amigos de Mexico Y Estado Unidos, Feliz 16th Septiembre, 1810
El Grito every 16th of September is the Mexican Fiesta par excellence! On this day Mexicans all over the world celebrate Mexico’s independence from Spanish rule. This year marks the 99th Anniversary of "The War." As you know, indigenous peoples were the first to inhabit what is now known as Mexico. They created great civilizations such as the Olmec, the Teotihuacan, Maya, Toltec, and of course the most powerful of all, the Aztec Empire. In the early hours of September 16, 1810, priest Hidalgo, accompanied by several conspirators –Iganacio Allende, Doña Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez- rang the bell of his little church, calling everyone to fight for liberty. This was the beginning of the Independence War, which lasted 10 years. Celebrating! And this is the moment that every 16th of September is re enacted in every plaza or zócalo of Mexico, and commemorated by Mexicans all over the world. Streets, houses, buildings and cars are decorated everywhere in the country. On every street corner there are vendors selling flags, balloons, sombreros and rehiletes -shuttlecock, all with the green, white and red, our National Colors. Flags wave from practically every house and building. I urge all compadres y amigos de MY BAD TEQUILA commerate this day of independence with a shot of your favorite tequila no matter the brand or type of agave used. Join Sammy Hagar, Artie the One Man Party & Rico with a salud to our adopted countrymen in Mexico with Cabo Wabo, Don Julio, Patron, Don Julio 1942, Destilador, El Jimador, Hornitos & El Tirador, all of which I might add, have in my Scottsdale home. My bar area resembles a Tequila tasting room of sorts just for this type of occasion. Next year is the 100th Anniversary - Party at Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Que tengan un buen dia, Tu Compradre y Amigo Rico Austin - Author & CEO of MY BAD TEQUILA Hola Amigos,
Today is a day of remembrance for the great Patrick Swayze, who taught us to dirty dance. May Patrick Swayze's Ghost be in the Roadhouse in the sky. Let us all drink a toast to Mr. Swayze, raise your shot glasses of Cabo Wabo to the heavens. Vaya Con Dios, Rico Austin, Author & CEO of MY BAD TEQUILA Amigos, Monday Night Football is upon us once again, making Mondays tolerable and reason for doing a shot of Cabo Wabo. Just for a change, have Sammy Hagar do the MNF introduction song in place of Hank Williams Jr. Love Hank Jr., just need a change in music. Artie the One Man Party has asked me to try and get Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian as eye candy if Boise State University Broncos get invited to the National Championship Game. I promised Sammy Hagar would attend and will try to use my starpower and tempt Miss Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian. Won't have to pay for entertainment fees as neither sing nor dance, just appearance fee - maybe free beer, hotdogs and an orange bronco shirt will suffice. Artie, I think you're going to have to go to your buddy Howard Stern for this request.
Got to go, need to watch San Diego Chargers play California state rival Oakland Raiders. Adios Muchachos, Rico Austin, CEO of MY BAD TEQUILA Hola Amigos,
Our Arizona Cardinals lost their home opener 20 - 16 to division rivals San Francisco 49ers. I was hoping Warner would do his maic again, but not this time. Boise State University Broncos broke into the top 10 in both the AP poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll. If things fell into place could they or BYU Cougars be in a National Championship Game this January? If Boise State makes it to a National Championship Game, I'll see to it that Sammy Hagar comes to the Boise State Tailgate Party to play and distribute Cabo Wabo shots to everyone wearing orange and/or blue bronco colors. On a lesser fine note, Tiger Woods lapped the rest of the PGA tour on his latest win today. He is good but I love to watch him lose, makes for good TV ratings. Getting ready for Sunday night football with a corona and a nice fresh lime to squeeze into the 12 ounce bottle. Signing off for the weekend! Uncle Rico Rico Austin, CEO, Author, Blogger, Tequila Connoisseur & Amigo of MY BAD TEQUILA "Have a Double Shot of Reality" Great Day of College Football - Boise State, USC & Michigan victorious & Sammy Hagar Fan Club9/13/2009 ?Que Tal, Compadres de mio?
Great day of college ball yesterday as Boise State, USC and Michigan were all victorious by defeating the foes - Miami Ohio, Ohio State (what's a friggin buckeye?) and the always over ranked Notre Dame squads. I was able to watch Michigan outsmart Notre Dame at home as it was on regular TV; Being a struggling artist I had to go to "The Office" a small neighborhood bar in Scottsdale where the bartenders are knockouts to catch my beloved Boise State University Broncos manhandle poor Miami Ohio with a final score of 48 - 0; And don't forget the last great drive of the USC trojans to defeat the Ohio State Buckeyes in their own red backyard of 106,033 strong. (That's alot of Buckeyes from where I come from). Michigan saved their homeland from the always overly ranked Notre Dame Irish. This is going to piss off a lot of Texas fans, I like Texas but wish Wyoming Cowboys could have roped and tied those Longhorns up like in the old John Wayne westerns. I did not, I repeat did not have any Cabo Wabo yesterday as I mixed margaritas listening to "Margaritaville." Please don't say that sounds gay (Not that there's anything wrong with that). Anyway, I don't like using my favorite tequila for margaritas so I used some good old home grown Mexico Tequila - Hornitos for my frozen conconction. I also found time to join Sammy Hagar's Facebook Fanclub. I'm one of those guys that "can't drive 55." Overall great day, did some pool dipping with the Mrs. Rico and wrote a little more in "My Bad Tequila." Time to get ready for a day of NFL football & watch my Fantasy Football Team starring Kurt Warner. I drafted him again this year. Vaya Con Dios! Rico Austin CEO of MY BAD TEQUILA Hola Amigos Mios!
Thanks to Mike Prater and Jeff Caves for having me on their sports talk radio show yesterday on KTIK (The Ticket) in Boise, Idaho to discuss my beloved BSU Broncos. My first Saturday of college football awaits me as last week I was in San Carlos, Mexico fighting Hurricane Jimena while sipping the Red Rocker aka Sammy Hagar's famous Cabo Wabo and the smooth Don Julio between wind gusts. The power was out, no running water and NO COLLEGE FOOTBALL. Looking forward to seeing Boise State Broncos take on Miami Ohio - point spread at 36! If I was a gambler I think I would still keep my money in my pocket on this one. Easy morning listening to Kenny Chesney's "Have another beer in Mexico" and Jimmy Buffett's "Margaritaville." I'll do a bit of writing this morning, take a refreshing dip in the pool at my Scottsdale home and take turns flipping the channel between football games and golf. Hoping to see Tiger lose the lead once again. I like it that he is human. For all the ASU fans out there, take the day off with your team, bye week for ASU Sun Devils. The Devils of the Desert deserve a rest after trouncing Idaho State Bengals last week. Speaking of last week I can't help but mention again BSU Broncos kicking Oregon Ducks again this year. Two years in a row, will there be room for a 3rd a_s kicking? My hat is off to the Oregon Athletic Department for not putting up with LaGarrette Blount's tirade at the end of the ga me. I hope this sends a message to all young athletes out there to think twice about your actions and choices. Sometimes one bad choice is all it takes to ruin a career or part of your life. Enough philosophy, time to take that dip in the pool, followed by a shot of Cabo Wabo and a Corona chaser. Hasta Luego Compadres! Rico Austin CEO - MY BAD TEQUILA ?Que Pasa Amigos?
8 years ago today our country experienced a huge loss of life and other destruction. May we all take a few moments today to remember those who lost their lives on the horrible day. Also, be sure to thank a veteran or an enlisted man or woman for their service to our country. "Freedom doesn't come free" God Bless America!!! My good friends Mark & Rachelle are taking a trailer down of donated food and other items to Mexico for the victims of Hurricane Jimena in San Carlos and Guaymas. Thank you Mark & Rachelle. Vaya Con Dios on your trip tomorrow! I did ask Mark to bring me back another bottle of Cabo Wabo and Don Julio. I was surprised I didn't get any responses to the LaGarrette Blount issue, what is going on out there? I want you to enjoy your tequila but not to the extent you have no time to write in a response. I will be on the air later this afternoon on Boise's talk radio show KTIK to discuss the Oregon running back's actions and to give praise to Boise State University Broncos. Hasta Luego Baby, Rico Austin CEO My Bad Tequila ?Que Tal, Amigos Mios?
It is that time again, Football season is upon us. What an opener for College football last Thursday night. My favorito Broncos of Boise State University manhandled Oregon Ducks again this year. Last year they did it on green duck turf, this year on blue Bronco turf. The only difference is that their jerseys have blue stains on them this year. What a punch by LaGarrette Blount; is he on steroids? or pissed off that he was named LaGarrette with double t's, double r's, double a's and double e's! Hell if I had been named that I might be looking to punch my momma!! Seriously, the first thing I would do at U of O is to have him submit to a drug test, that behavior is similar to aggressive out of control behavior typical of humans mixing steroids in their blood system. I believe the University of Oregon should be commended for the way they handled the youngster although many will say it too harsh of a punishment. Oregon Ducks just went up several notches on my ranking for athletic programs after their quick and decisive determination. I believe this at least gives Mr. Blount an opportunity to ponder his actions before going out into the real world some evening at a night club with a gun and losing his temper. It also gives other young athletes the opportunity to reflect on their own behavior and why might happen if they can not control themselves and keep good sportsmanship in the game. I do not blame LaGarrette Blount wholely as he sees this type of behavior sometimes displayed among the NFL, MLB and continuosly displayed in the NBA. LaGarrette, I wish you the best in the future. I played college football at BSU and in England and I know that sometimes emotions run high; but it takes an all around athlete to promote great sportsmanship. Onto the NFL, that I did not mean to disgrace upon their opening night - Super Bowl defending Champions - Pittsburgh Steelers vs Tennessee Titans tonight. I am excited because I play Fantasy Football - makes the games alot more interesting. Word of warning out there before I start having my coronas and a couple double shots of Sammy Hagar's beloved Cabo Wabo -- Arizona Cardinals are still here!! Hasta Luego, Rico Austin CEO of MY BAD TEQUILA Hola Amigos,
I am back safe in Scottsdale after a labor day fiasco of which I am a bit bummed out, between not getting to rendevouz with Sammy Hagar the Red Rocker in San Carlos, Mexico and all the trouble happening with Tila Tequila. I did however make the most of it as I heard through mis amigos del norte that my beloved Boise State Broncos had given a nice blue turf kicking to the Oregon Ducks on Thursday evening. I was stuck in Hermosillo and tried 3 different bars and restaurants that claimed to have ESPN but it was ESPN International showing the US Open Tennis torney. I struggled watching tennis, but Cabo Wabo and Don Julio were there to keep me company in between serves and lobs. I didn't care much for Obama trying to get more votes in the next election by addressing high school students. How naive does he think kids are? I hope they didn't fall for it as their parents sure as hell did not. Obama stop campaigning and begin working to make our economy strong again. Show us some positive change, we've seen enough negative change for a lifetime. Oh sorry, I try to keep politics out of this non-partisan blog. This is for tequila lovers, roll n roll lovers and those who like to read a great novel. Later gators. Keep on rolling BSU broncos. Rico Austin - CEO My Bad Tequila Hola Amigos,
Lo Siento, So Sorry for no blogs lately. I headed out to San Carlos, Mexico for Labor Day holiday early Thursday am, Sept 3rd and ran into the hurricane outside Hermosillo, Mexico. Our party of 6 with 2 vehicles got to within 30 miles of San Carlos and had to turn back because highway 15 the coastal road to San Carlos, Matzalan and Puerto Vallarta was washed completely out due to Hurricane Jimena. In Hermosillo we picked up 6 more vehicles to caravan with, all 4 wheel drives and took the back way into Bahia de Kino, there were 3 helicopters on the flooded back road and we had to have the federales get them moved. After 2 days of drinking Cabo Wabo and coronas in Hermosillo and in the vehicle while waiting we were the first to arrive in San Carlos at 4:00pm Friday. Luckily, we have CDs of Sammy Hagar, Jimmy Buffett and Kenny Chesney to help ease the pain along with our great friend Don Julio and good ol' sidekick Cabo Wabo. This is the first day that we have had internet or phone service so you are receiving the first outside communication from the San Carlos and Guaymas area. Devastation everywhere, check out youtubes hurricane jimena and jimena for pictures of what happened. I need to celebrate life with mi amigos in San Carlos and help clean up the town. Saludos, Rico Austin, CEO My Bad Tequila Compadres y Amigos,
It looks as if Sammy Hagar, Cabo San Lucas and Cabo Wabo - both the distillery and the Red Rocker's night club are all intact as hurricane Jimena is passing just west of the southern tip of the Baja. More good news as it has calmed from a potential Category 5 to a current Category 2; The Baja of California did need rain, so this is good; we just all need to pray that perhaps it will be let to ride up the coast to the great state of California to help put out the raging fires there. I'm getting ready to hit the beach this weekend, taking some of my favorite CDs of the Red Rocker's tunes with me as well as Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, George Strait, Sugarland, Eagles, Billy Idol and Bon Jovi to help quicken the trip and add enjoyment for the drive. Well, I need to head out to the Phoenix/Scottsdale Sky Harbor International Airport to pick up two amigos from Denver, Colorado to join me on the sunny beaches of San Carlos. I just love the San Francisco playa in Sonora. If I miss a day or two on the blog don't worry I'm just sipping some good tequila, Cabo Wabo, Jimador and Don Julio 1942. Adios Muchachos, Rico Austin - CEO of My Bad Tequila Mi Amigo Sammy Hagar,
Telefono a mi por favor, is the Cabo Wabo going to be safe? And I am not talking about the night club. I think we should change our plans and meet in San Carlos instead of Cabo Wabo; let's meet at the Captain's Bar near the marina, please bring your guitar and a giant blue bottle of Cabo Wabo Tequila para mi. I hope everyone on the Baja is going to be fine. Those hurricanes are no fun; I was in one 2 years ago right before Labor Day in San Carlos, Sonora - partied in thigh deep water at Froggy's Bar. Signing off to watch CNN about Jimena. Rico Austin CEO of MY BAD TEQUILA Amigos Mio, ?Que Pasa Hoy?
I've been very concerned with the Hurricane Jimena as my good friend Sammy Hagar, his beloved 20% of Cabo Wabo tequila distillery and the great party town of Mexico - Cabo San Lucas is in danger of a Category 4 to Category 5 hurricane. Also my place across the Sea of Cortez in San Carlos, Sonora will feel the pain from this monstrous storm of wind and rain. My prayers and thoughts go out to the Mexicans that are in danger. I hope that your families, animals, businesses and homes will be spared. Mexico has been my home away from home for several years and the Mexicans are mi hermanos y hermanas. Vaya con Dios, Rico Austin CEO My Bad Tequila Hola Chicos y Chicas,
I went to a great movie tonight - Quentin Tarantino has again done it big with his new movie Inglorious Bastards starring Brad Pitt and BJ Novak of "The Office." Mr. Tarantino just keeps pushing out great flicks like Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill. Also Brad Pitt and BJ Novak of the fairly new sitcom "The Office" played great roles. Mike Meyers even showed up in the film for his buddy Quentin and plays a small, yet important role. After eating popcorn and watching this great flick which is Quentin Tarantino signature all the way with a lot of people having to die. I couldn't wait to get home, go out to the swimming pool, take a couple of shots of Cabo Wabo and then a chaser of Jose Cuervo while thinking about the film I had just seen. When "MY Bad Tequila" is ready for the big screen, I want Quentin Tarantino or Clint Eastwood aka Dirty Harry to direct.
