Hola Amigas & Amigos, as I was adding archived Blogs from November 2009, I came across this one and figured I should probably post this once again as it serves thanks and a lesson for humanity of living by the Golden Rule. I hope You do enjoy this, nearly 5 years later than when first posted.
Hello Amigos, Brothers & Sisters,
Today is about GOD, about his Greatness, his Goodness and his Love! It is G day in the alphabet and the only thing I can think of to write about is GOD. I am not a prophet, an evangelist nor a spiritual adviser. I do however, know of God's Love for all his Children and I am thankful I am one of his many Children in this fantastic world that he created. All the animals, plants, sea creatures, birds and the brainpower he has given us to build unbelievable structures and do incredible things with electronics that are in our airplanes, cars, trains, space shuttles and even our computers.
This Blog today is not about a certain religion or belief, it is not about Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, Islam or Hinduism; it is about Brotherly Love for one another. It is about the Golden Rule - "Do unto others that you would have them do unto you" or more simply "Treat others as you want to be treated." Not too difficult of a concept to comprehend; but, in today's face paced world, it is overlooked daily by most of us, Moi included.
Let us all take a moment to say a Prayer for Our Planet, Our World, Our Country, Our Friends, Our Family and Our Household.
On Easter Sunday 2007 it was estimated that 2 billion Catholic, Protestant and Eastern Orthodox Christians recited, sang or read the short prayer in hundreds of languages. "Although many theological differences and various modes and manners of worship divide Christians, there is a sense of solidarity in knowing that Christians around the globe are praying together....., and these words always unite us" according to a Fuller Seminary professor.
Let us all recite the Lord's Prayer, it is perhaps the best-known prayer in Christianity and I being a Christian know this Prayer.
"Our Father, which art in Heaven
Hallowed be thy Name
Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done, in earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen"
While we're at it , let's not forget to thank our Lord GOD for all that he has blessed us with and to say a special prayer for those who can not walk, for those who can not see, for those who are afflicted with disease or afflicted with sorrow, for those who are without parents or relatives. Say a special Prayer for our Soldiers and International Red Cross as they put themselves in harm's way to help defeat World Terrorism and provide us with the Freedom that GOD gave to us all.
Amen,
Rico Austin
